About the role
This is a full-time position with an immediate start, ideal for a dynamic educator who is committed to nurturing student growth through high-quality teaching in Quran and Islamic Studies.
Deliver engaging Quran and Islamic Studies lessons to K-12 students
Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Collaborate with a committed and professional teaching team
Contribute to curriculum development and student wellbeing initiatives
Requirements
Liaise with the Head of Quran and Islamic Studies as required for professional support
Collaborative program writing and resource group teaching
Parent Teacher interviews
One to one diagnostic testing for planning of remedial programs
Small group testing
Curriculum differentiation
Completing Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) for individual students involving the student, staff and parents
Meeting with Head of Schools, Year Level Coaches, Counsellors, to address individual student needs
Education & Qualifications
Appropriate Quran and Islamic Studies qualification.
Knowledge of the Arabic Language
Knowledge of teaching and learning styles and study skills
Respect and appreciation of young people and their learning needs
The ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents
Proven ability to incorporate technology into the curriculum
Relevant teaching qualifications and NESA accreditation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to the values and ethos of Islamic education.
Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
Minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience is required.
Successful applicants will be expected to support the Islamic Ethos of the College and may be required to work at Green Valley NSW 2168
Selection Criteria
Demonstrated understanding of the Islamic ethos of the school, supporting the school’s philosophy, values, beliefs, and mission whilst contributing to a caring and supportive environment for all students, parents, and staff.
Ability to teach and model to the school community the religious beliefs of the school.
Commitment to ongoing professional development to ensure the Islamic worldview and pedagogy is rooted in curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.
Proven ability to lead and present professional learning sessions that build teacher capacity, strengthen instructional practice, and align with the school’s strategic goals for academic excellence.
Ability to assist with and lead daily prayers if appropriate.
Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing teachers through coaching, feedback, and professional dialogue.
Ability to use assessment data to inform teaching practices, identify areas for improvement, and drive evidence-based strategies.
Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate curriculum planning, professional learning, and assessment moderation effectively.
Capacity to model and promote best practices in pedagogy, classroom management, and differentiation.
Ability to collaborate in the review and development of Quran and Islamic Studies resources that enhance Quranic and Islamic Studies teaching and learning across the school.
