Minarah College is Governed by a Constitution and managed by a Board of Directors which sets out the following:
Green Valley Islamic College Limited
The Muslim League of NSW Inc. (the League) established the Green Valley Islamic College Ltd. in 2001 as a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee incorporated under the Corporations Act. The Company is a registered charity under the Australian Charities and Not-For Profits Commission Act. The League is the sole member of the Company with the right to appoint a representative under section 250D of the Corporations Act. The Company was formed for the charitable purpose of advancing education and its assets and income must only be used for its Objects.
More specifically, the Company was established to provide general Pre-School, Primary, Secondary and Higher Education, including Trade and Vocational Education, of high standard and quality in an Islamic environment.
To this end, Minarah College (the College) commenced in 2002. For the purposes of the Education Act 1990 (NSW), the Company is the proprietor of the College. For the purposes of the Australian Education Act 2013 (Cth.), the Company is the approved authority.
The Shuraa Council, the League and the School Board work together in good faith in the best interests of the College and seek to maintain a good working relationship through dedication, transparent, open and honest communication.
The Board is responsible for the overall management of the School and its assets. It operates under a Charter. The aims and objectives of the company are outlined in the school constitution. Management of the School is delegated to the Principal. The Principal is supported in these duties by Chair and several Board committees.
