MAINTANANCE ASSISTANT - PART TIME - 2 DAYS A WEEK

Maintenance Assistant's core responsibilities, under the direction of the Maintenance Handyman, is to assist with:

repair and maintenance to school furniture and fittings, equipment, and other assets.

moving or relocating furniture, tools, equipment, stationery etc. as required.

other minor building and/or repair and maintenance projects as requested.

cleaning and maintenance of stormwater outlets as required.

gardening duties such as mowing, fertilising, planting, pruning, edging, reticulation maintenance, and weed control.

attend to any WHS/safety matters with regards to building and grounds maintenance and upkeep.

any other works associated with the operations of the College as directed.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

Ability to communicate and interact appropriately and effectively with students and staff.

Working with Children Check must be obtained prior to commencement.

Personal pride in work quality.

Attention to detail.

Ability to respond quickly and to remain calm under pressure.

A positive approach to tasks and situations.

Ability to safely operate general gardening/ground maintenance tools and light power tools.

Available Mondays and Tuesdays.

Minimum of 6 months experience in maintenance or handyman work.

Australian permanent resident or citizen status required.

 

Previous experience in a school environment is desirable.
