Expression of Interest:  Independent Board of Director Position – Minarah College.


Role Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Collaborate on setting and upholding Minarah College's strategic vision and mission.
  2. Provide oversight on governance, financial management, and regulatory compliance.
  3. Actively contribute insights in board meetings, fostering transparency and accountability.

Criteria for Ideal Candidates: 

In alignment with best practices in Board directorship, we are seeking individuals who possess a diverse range of skills, experiences, and personal attributes. Specifically, we are looking for candidates who demonstrate: 

  1. Skills - Expertise in governance, finance, information systems, business management, or legal fields. Formal qualifications in relevant professional areas, with exposure to education sector and Islamic ethos will be highly desirable.
  2. Experience - Proven track record of leadership, compliance, or governance, ideally with other boards, or similar executive committee experience. Experience in areas such as board director, corporate executive management, compliance, educational leadership, or community advocacy.
  3. Demographics - We encourage applications from individuals of Fiji Islamic background and ethos, particularly women of this background to apply.
  4. Personal Attributes - Strategic thinker with strong business acumen, communication, and analytical skills. Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and engage in constructive dialogue.

Expression of Interest Process: 

Interested candidates are invited to submit an EOI, including a) a detailed resume highlighting relevant leadership and governance experience. b) a supporting statement outlining why the position of Board member at Minarah College is of interest and how the candidate's skills and experiences align with the criteria outlined above.
